In the yards of the port of Tampico, Petroleos Mexicanos is carrying out one of its most recent new projects: the construction of six relocatable offshore platforms. These platforms have the capacity to move from one point to another in deep waters, providing support for hydrocarbon production in the face of the discoveries made in the Gulf of Mexico. The state-owned company is implementing this strategy in the facilities of the company Eseasa, in the state of Tamaulipas.<\/p>\n
During the 1007th session, Pemex's Board of Directors approved the initiation of early contracting procedures for the fabrication of six relocatable marine structures. Agreement CA-045\/2023 authorized the subsidiary Pemex Exploraci\u00f3n y Producci\u00f3n to manage the release of the necessary resources to the Corporate Finance Department, and the initiative seeks to manufacture four minimum relocatable temporary structures and two definitive ones, in the Ayatsil, Kayab and Pit fields, which are located in shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico.<\/p>\n
According to the CEO of the national oil company, these temporary platforms are designed to be strategically located to increase production without the need to build new structures. According to Octavio Romero, it is expected that the platforms can be installed this year and 24 wells can be drilled. Finally, the director of Pemex PEP, \u00c1ngel Cid Mungu\u00eda, indicated that, according to studies carried out by the former state-owned company, these structures will be moved to new production areas in the future, contributing to an estimated increase of 30 thousand barrels.<\/p>\n
