Historic Moment in Mexico! Lenia Batres first minister to be appointed directly by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
In a process marked by a lack of consensus, Lenia Batres is sworn in as the new minister of Mexico's Supreme Court. The opposition rejected the three candidates proposed by the ruling party on two occasions, leading President López Obrador to directly appoint Batres. Since the reform published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on September 21, 1944 to Article 94 of the Mexican Constitution, the power of the executive to appoint and designate a person to the position had not been used when the Congress of the Union does not agree.
