President Andrés Manuel López Obrador directly appointed José Alfonso Pascual Solórzano Fraga, Martha Patricia Jiménez Oropeza and Baldemar Hernández Márquez as commissioners of the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH), since the Senate of the Republic did not resolve in the Plenary the appointment of one of each of the three candidates presented by the Chief Executive.
Thus, the governing body of Mexico's hydrocarbons regulator will be able to meet this year, following the departure of Commissioner Néstor Martínez Romero on December 31 at the end of his term.
José Alfonso Pascual Solórzano Fraga is a civil engineer from Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás and holds a Master's degree in Road Engineering from Universidad de Chihuahua.
Martha Patricia Jiménez Oropeza has a degree in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico de Villahermosa and a master's degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco (UJAT).
Baldemar Hernández Márquez holds a degree in Economics with a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics and a PhD in Information Sciences. In his professional career, he was director of the Centro de Estudios Superiores del Trópico in Cárdenas, Tabasco, in addition to being secretary of Agricultural Development in the government of the same entity.
