The Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores del Ramo de Ventas y Servicios en General, Similares y Conexos de la República Mexicana (SINATRAVE) has filed a complaint against Tequila Patrón Spirits for alleged labor rights violations under the T-MEC.
According to the complaint, there have been reports of discrimination, labor inequality and repeated violations of workers' rights at the company. In addition, the dismissal of 200 members in retaliation for their union election has been reported, which constitutes a clear violation of freedom of association.
The Federal Labor Court of Collective Affairs has formally summoned the company to court, and SINATRAVE is taking legal action both nationally and internationally with the support of the International Labor Lawyers Network (ILAW NETWORK).
