Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has announced the approval of its Sustainability Plan by the company's Board of Directors, marking a clear commitment to sustainable performance. The plan, which encompasses medium and long-term goals, focuses on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and energy transition, establishing defined objectives based on the challenges identified in the company's value chain.
Pemex's Sustainability Plan has the favorable opinion of the Sustainability Committee and has been prepared with the support of Standard & Poor's Global Commodity Insights, an internationally recognized consulting firm in energy transition and emissions management. In addition, the program includes social commitments to improve industrial safety, generate positive impacts and strengthen relations with communities, along with an anti-corruption approach. To improve governance, key enablers are identified and transparency and disclosure of information aligned with international standards is promoted.
