Correos de México alerted the population about a fake Facebook account selling undelivered packages in its name. The items are being offered for 38 pesos.
What does the fake Correos de México account do?
The Mexican Postal Service (Sepomex) stated that the “Postal Warehouse” account offers products and merchandise that are not owned by it.
“Lost and unclaimed merchandise from Mexico's mail warehouses is offered,” read a statement.
In addition, the company claimed that the page sells household, kitchen and electronic items, supposedly from Correos de México, for 38 pesos.
However, it is important not to access the site, as it may be a scam, putting your personal data at risk.
Likewise, the “Almacén Postal” web page illegally uses the logo and a photograph of the Mexican Postal Service.
What is Correos de México's suggestion?
Therefore, the Mexican Postal Service (Sepomex) asked users not to access or purchase from the “Postal Warehouse” page.
Meanwhile, Correos de Mexico reiterates that it “does not sell returned packages or undelivered merchandise” through Facebook.
It is also important to follow the official accounts. In addition, in case of any delivery, the parcel and courier service makes three attempts at the address.
If the user is not found, the staff of the company, whose logo is an envelope, returns the package and keeps it in safekeeping, but does not offer it for sale.
