ISSSTE alerts its pensioners about false call to comply with the survival review pass

Surely you have seen some publications that say that, if you do not pass the validity period, your pension will be suspended for not complying with the procedure. However, the ISSSTE has already denied this news. In Unotv.com we tell you why.

According to these false publications, the pensioners of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE) must pass the validity period every six months to verify that they are still alive and that their names are not being used for fraud, since they are the ones who receive the resources that correspond to them.

Do ISSSTE pensioners have to pass a survivorship procedure?

The ISSSTE has already denied this information. He recalled that since 2014, the survival review process has been suspended.

Therefore, their pensioners do not have to do anything in this regard, as it was even stated that the elderly should go to an office of the institute or diplomatic representation, in case they are abroad.

Likewise, the institution emphasized that there is no reason why the payment of pensions will be suspended, and urged its beneficiaries not to fall for this type of false or outdated news.

Is there no longer such a thing as a magazine pass?

While neither the ISSSTE nor the IMSS ask their pensioners to pass a survival review in order to continue depositing their monthly payment, there are some banks that do ask their pension clients to pass a review every year. However, this is only by telephone, and depends on each institution.

This is done by banks that manage pension resources, especially when they are from Afore. The Institute stopped requesting this procedure because it is currently carried out through the cross-checking of information with the National Population Registry (Renapo).

Where is there a survival magazine pass?

On the other hand, pensioners of the Social Security Institute for the Mexican Armed Forces (Issfam) are required to undergo a survivor's review twice a year. This is to verify that they continue to receive and take advantage of the resources to which they are entitled.

In accordance with Article 29 of the Issfam Law, as well as Article 8 of its Regulations, retired military personnel must carry out this procedure during March and September of each year. With the exception of the following ranks, who are exempt from doing so:

  • General
  • Chiefs
  • Admirals
  • Captains
