Did you know? Does Pemex's 2013-2015 Collective Labor Agreement allow two people to be beneficiaries of a deceased worker?

The Second Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico has determined that, according to clause 132 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement entered into between Pemex and its Workers' Union, two persons who can prove that they are spouses of a deceased worker may be beneficiaries of his or her benefits, even if one of them was not previously designated as such.

This applies as long as both individuals can prove their marital status through a valid marriage certificate. This contractual provision, agreed by the Union and Pemex, protects the nuclear family in the event of the death of an employee.
