The Bank of Mexico (Banxico) warned about a fake video circulating in social networks. It uses the image of the governor, Victoria Rodríguez Ceja, who seeks to deceive people by asking for money.
“This central institute categorically denies the information being disseminated, and urges the population to ignore the aforementioned video to avoid being a victim of deceit.” He highlighted that with this type of actions, delinquency seeks to carry out “fraudulent operations”.
“Banco de México warns of the dissemination in social networks of a fake video, allegedly generated by artificial intelligence, which uses the image and falsifies the voice of the governor of this central bank, as well as other personalities of Mexico's public life,” the agency informed.
