Fuel self-sufficiency is delayed until 2025; amlo is not expected to meet goals before he leaves office.

According to the state-owned company's recent report released today, the Tula refinery's coker plant will begin early operation in March of this year, with an initial production of 38,000 barrels of gasoline, diesel and turbosine per day. This production will rise to 88,000 barrels once it is in full operation for the following year.

In the case of the Salina Cruz refinery coker, it will be in 2025 when it will start with an estimated production of 37 thousand barrels. In its report, the company under the leadership of Octavio Romero Oropeza acknowledges that from September to December of this year the deficit in fuel production will increase from 62 thousand barrels to 298 thousand barrels, mainly due to the reduction in the production of the six refineries that make up the National Refining System (SNR), which will drop from 650 thousand barrels to 558 thousand barrels.

The coker plants at the refineries of Tula, Hidalgo, and Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, will be operational by 2025, with which Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) expects to reach a production of 1,371,000 barrels of fuels per day by that same year.
